Jj Cole bundle me
I was given one of these that goes between the baby and the car seat with shoulder strap holes to install on our infant seat. I don't have the instructions so I googled it and can't find instructions but did fine a crazy amount of information stating not to use it bc it is unsafe. I don't know if I should install it or just use the carters fuzzy bear warm suit like I did with my other kiddos when they were babies 10 and 8 years ago although I've since learned that they are also deemed unsafe. Photo of the type of bundles for reference. If it would be better to use the bundle me does anyone have instructions? I realize it doesn't seem that complicated but want to make sure I have it in the seat properly.

I have a bunting bag that I'll be using, to each is own though, even my doctor uses a bunting bag. It gets really cold here. But not everyone is comfortable with using a bunting bag.

@kamber4,
is that the same as what I am referring to? I'm in PA and February is the coldest month of the year here and I just want baby to be warm and safe!

@4BBs4Me,
ahaha yes, sorry it's the same thing. I live in northern Canada. I used one with my son 4 years ago and he was born in November. I have one for this baby too. It gets to -50° Celsius here so I need to keep baby warm, again to each is own not everyone is comfortable with it.
Maybe something like this? I think these are considered safer.
@Idamomma96,
yes those are safer! Nothing goes under the baby. That's what I used with my first
@Idamomma96,
that what I will be using. I was nervous to get one that had something that went between baby and seat

@Idamomma96,
⬅️ I agree with her . These are the safest. Anything that goes IN the car seat could alter the way it is designed and tested to perform in a crash, resulting in serious injury or death.

I use a bunting seat in my infant seat but not the one that goes under baby and seat only over the top.
Totally personal preference.
With my last (he is 2 years now), I had the fire dept install the car seat. They said no to the inserts in the car seat to me (it was a liner to prevent having to take apart the car seat if my son had a blowout.) They also said no to the mirrors! Coats are also not recommended, due to the seat not fitting snug enough if you get into a car accident.
I have a car seat cover that unzips and flips up over the face if it's cold or raining.
The warm outfit, I have 1. But I just like to have one on hand if we go outside, or if we lose power, lol. I think my son wore his 2x total.
I have the jj cole bundle me from when I had my girls 7 & 5 years ago but I've since learned how unsafe it is. I bought this snowsuit type jacket that's made out of thin enough material that it is car seat safe but warm at the same time. I plan on using this along with a warm blanket. I got the nuna pipa so will also use the dream drape with possibly a blanket over for walking to and from the car.
I was researching this the other day because I also have a bundle me from my first. I found that there are videos showing ways you can cut the center out of it so that there is no material between baby and the straps and it can still be zipped up to keep baby warm. might be worth a shot instead of buying something new since you already have this!

Don't use anything between baby and car seat! They have another style similar to a shower cap like someone posted above. That is safe. I just used a blanket on top of baby with the weather cap on top. You would be surprised how warm it gets with the cap on it; so I would worry about getting something super thick for baby to wear.
Neither of those are considered safe, unfortunately. Put a blanket over the baby after you buckle him/her in. You can also get the car seat cover (like a previous poster mentioned) that just goes over the car seat to protect baby from the cold and wind. 👍🏻
Thick outfits and car seat accessories that go under the baby are unsafe. We got a 7am Enfant car seat cocoon that only goes over the seat.
I used a car seat cover and blankets in the car seat. I was gifted a bundle me and I ended up using it with the stroller a lot.
